... of what might only last a couple posts. My ADD and busy life schedule will probably push this project to the wayside. Not to mention, my lack of commitment and drive to finish what I've started. Ha.

That being said, I always forget what things I've learned, started learning, attempted to learn, etc. I'm the type of person who sees something and says "Hey, I could probably make that!" I think I've inherited that trait from my father. He is a master craftsmen and literally CAN make anything.

My passion-pit-of-the-week is being a mosaic artist! I hastily bought all of the tools and quite a bit of material and have dove right in to a new artistic lifestyle. I think it looked easier than what I had perceived. Nonetheless, I am committed! For now.

The photo featured was my first attempt at a mosaic masterpiece. It fell slightly short of uninteresting and lacking direction. HUGE learning experience.

Mistake #1: Half of the tile I used came from flooring tile that I struggled with to break into small enough pieces.

Mistake #2: In effort to save money I bought a small jar of pre-mixed grout. Don't bother with the pre-mixed crap. It was awful. Admittedly, I don't have experience with grouting mosaics- yet. I have worked with grout in the past and remember it not being as wet and hard to handle.

Project #2 is on it's way. I found a cute little end table at the Hope Rescue Mission place and I've already begun the process. I will be using the indirect method (which I will explain in the next post) and incorporating my new love 'Pique Assiette.' Which is a form of mosaics that uses broken china and crockery in the form of "controlled chaos." It kind of speaks to my soul.

I will post a picture of the table as it is now. I have already sanded it and applied a coat of primer and first coat of paint. I think I'll hit it with one more light coating of paint before I begin to distress it slightly. I really love the look of antique furniture, however this may possibly be used as a plant holder on my porch if I don't love it enough. Wish me luck!
